Welcome to Chislehurst Osteopathy & Cranial Clinic

Hi, I'm Sean, the face behind Chislehurst Osteopathy & Cranial Clinic.

I qualified back in 1998 with a BSc (Hons) in Osteopathic Medicine and a Naturopathic diploma, and since then I’ve clocked up more post-graduate courses than I care to admit, especially in Cranial Osteopathy (some of them fairly esoteric, I’ll be honest). Along the way I also trained in somatic bodywork, which deepened my interest in how the body and mind really do work as one.

After years in private practice, and a few detours into other areas of work and life, I’ve now relocated to the Chislehurst area and opened this new clinic.

I’m also a dad of three (now in their late twenties), a former motocross racer, a pretty serious road cyclist back in the day, and I’ve completed Ironman triathlons. These days I spend most of my mornings in the gym.

Movement, resilience, and recovery aren’t just things I talk about; they’ve been part of my life for decades. I also have a long-standing interest in Eastern philosophy - Taoism and Zen in particular - which quietly informs how I work: simple, grounded, present.

So… What Do I Actually Do?

At its heart, osteopathy was never just about bad backs and stiff necks.

The original thinking behind Osteopathy was this: If the body moves well, blood flows well. If blood flows well, nerves function well. When those systems work properly, the body has the best chance of staying healthy.

Over time, osteopathy has become more associated with joint and muscle pain and yes, I treat plenty of that: backs, necks, shoulders, headaches, general wear and tear - all welcome.

My particular interest, however, lies in something deeper: The Body–Mind Interface.

Stress, anxiety and trauma; the stuff that doesn’t always show up clearly on a scan but absolutely shows up in the body.

Clenched jaws, tight shoulders, IBS, headaches, poor sleep, persistent pain that doesn’t quite make sense - Much of this lives in the nervous system.

My approach combines:

  • Structural Osteopathy

  • Cranial Osteopathy

  • Somatic bodywork

Sessions are collaborative and tailored to you. We work with the nervous system directly, helping it regulate, settle, and unwind.

Sometimes the most powerful changes happen quietly.

An integrative, grounded approach

Everything I do is grounded in nearly three decades of clinical experience as well as my own life experience. I’ve worked with athletes, stressed professionals, exhausted parents, babies, and people navigating big life transitions.

No two people are the same, so no two treatments are the same.

If you’re in or around Chislehurst and curious about how osteopathy might help you, feel free to get in touch.

This is a space to reset, recalibrate, and come back to yourself a little.

What else to expect:

I’ll also be running workshops in the near future covering:

  • Injury prevention

  • Exercise and mobility

  • Nutrition basics

  • Simple somatic techniques you can use at home

My aim is not just to treat problems, but to help you understand and maintain your own resilience.

I look forward to hearing from you and helping you with your healing journey.
